2022 Federal Government SMEDAN Loan

The Federal Government of Nigeria intends to support the development and growth of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria through its partner agency, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

Under this, SMEDAN is now accepting loan applications from interested MSMEs across the country. Interested parties are advised to visit www.smedan.gov.ng/loans for more information and access requirements

The Department of Economic Planning, Industry & Investment has released a new policy that will be used as a guide for micro businesses in their quest for funding.

This is part of efforts by the government towards promoting quality jobs creation; boosting exports; improving tax collection; encouraging small businesses to grow and expand through ease-of-doing business practices including import substitution policies with a special focus on the manufacturing sector where SMEs operate most efficiently due to low-cost inputs required compared with larger firms who often have high-cost structures making it difficult for them compete internationally, especially against larger multinationals like General Electric which uses branded products. In contrast, Nigerian companies use local ones thus reducing exposure risk associated with importing generic product from outside Nigeria which could lead them to lose money if they fail at the first attempt because they were not ready enough when going international market place.”

MSME Fund Application Now Open

Under this, SMEDAN is now accepting loan applications from interested MSMEs across the country.

You can apply for a loan from SMEDAN if you are a registered member of their network and have run your business for at least 1 year. You must also be able to repay the amount you borrow under the scheme.
