The scholarships will provide financial assistance to international undergraduate students from low- and middle-income countries who have been admitted by an approved institution in Canada, regardless of their citizenship or visa status.

Scholarship Description

The Pearson International Scholarship Program is a merit-based scholarship program that provides full tuition and fee scholarships to eligible international undergraduate students at the University of Toronto. Applicants must be enrolled in one of our programs, including graduate studies or PhDs, who are pursuing an undergraduate degree at UofT.

Applicants are required to submit an application form (which can be downloaded from the web), along with their transcripts and two letters of recommendation from faculty members who have taught them.

The deadline for applications is December 1st for Canadian citizens; January 31st for international students residing outside Canada; February 25th for those residing within Canada but not Ontario residents studying in Ontario schools outside their home province(s).

The LBP Scholarship Program provides a one-time award of $15,000 per year (or less if applicable) towards tuition fees in exchange for full-time employment at Pearson after graduation.

The number of awards granted each year depends on FTEs provided by corporate sponsorships and fundraising efforts.

Scholarship Value

The scholarship value is $50,000 per year for four years. This includes tuition, books, incidental fees, and full residence support for four years.

Benefits

The Pearson International Scholarships will cover tuition, books, and incidental fees for four years. You will be responsible for paying your residence support costs (i.e., rent).

The scholarship covers all the tuition fees associated with an undergraduate degree program at U of T’s Faculty of Arts & Science or Faculty of Medicine: $42,500/year in Ontario and $20,000/year in Quebec (for new students).

This amount includes textbooks but does not include other costs such as room and board which are covered by your home institution or other sources outside of this scholarship program; it also does not include lab fees or other laboratory supplies required for academic work at UTM.

Level and Area of Studies

The program is open to international undergraduate students from all over the world. Students must be entering their first year of study at the University of Toronto and are not currently registered with another school or institution.

Students must also meet one of these requirements:

  • be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at UofT (i.e., BA/BSc/BEng)
  • have completed a Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent) from an accredited Canadian high school

First-year college level in any field
